Understanding Payroll for your Business

Instructor: Melinda Ellerman (Biography)

Mindy has worked with the SBDC since 2011 as an instructor for Fundamentals of Finance Series. Mindy received her B.S. in Managerial Accounting from Southern Oregon University and her Masters in Forensic Accounting from New England College. She has over 15 years’ of accounting and finance experience in both the private and public sectors. Mindy offers her expertise in finance and accounting to assist small businesses here in the Rogue Valley where she makes her home with her husband and young son. They enjoy camping on the local rivers and lakes and sharing time with their extended families.

You will learn the basics of maintaining a payroll and paying the taxes in this class, held over two evenings. Topics include employee set up, information and forms; subcontracting restrictions; payroll periods; required deductions; paying quarterlies; and annual reporting.

Continuing Education Credits 
All SBDC business courses are approved for continuing education credits for Construction Contractor Residential C/E, Landscape Contractor C/E and Massage Therapy C/E. You receive 1 CEU for each hour of class instruction. Please inform the SBDC when registering (541) 956-7494 if you need a certificate to document your CE credits so we can provide it at the end of your class.

The cost for this class is $120. ($96 if also enrolled in Bookkeeping and Financial Statements.)
