Excel for Business Owners

Instructor: Jim Sweeney (Biography)

Jim Sweeney developed his computer skills using Microsoft Office Excel, Power Point and Word over the thirteen years he spent as a budget analyst and operations planner for the United States Navy. Jim has been using personal computer spreadsheets and word processors on the job over the past thirty years. Jim serves as the Education Director for the Rogue Area Seniors Computer Assistance League (RASCAL); and earned a Bachelor’s degree in History and a Masters of Business Administration degree.

Learn the basics of Microsoft Excel and how to use it as a tool to manage your business information. Learn about the structure of a spreadsheet and be introduced to formulas, functions, navigation, and other features of the powerful tool. Then add to your business toolbox with additional Microsoft Excel functionality. Learn to manage and manipulate data and create various chart types to display your business information at a glance.

Bring a thumb drive to save your work. Consists of four sessions. Class held at the Small Business Development Center on the Redwood campus: 3345 Redwood Highway, Building V Computer Lab, Grants Pass.
